Phytotherapeutic drugs

Herbal medicines are medicines obtained from medicinal plants. They are obtained by exclusively using vegetable drug derivatives (extract, dye, oil, wax, exudate, juice, and others). It is not subject to registration as a herbal medicine, medicinal plant or parts thereof, after collection, stabilization and drying, and may be whole, shaved, crushed or pulverized.
Herbal medicines, like all medicines, should offer quality assurance, have proven therapeutic effects, standardized composition and safety of use for the population.
Quality should be achieved by controlling the raw materials, finished product, packaging materials, pharmaceutical formulation and stability studies
Efficacy and safety should be validated through ethnopharmacological surveys, technoscientific bibliographies in literature and / or indexed publications and / or preclinical and clinical pharmacological and toxicological studies.
